Default chevrolet suburban 1992 headlight problems?

as im driving back home at night i turn on the headlights and they keep turning off and turning back on back and forth.i dont know if its the fuses that are messed up or somethng.also on top of that the radio from the suburban dosent work either.it use 2 do the same thing as the headlights.turn off and turn on until it just stopped turning on.so it dosent work and smoked starting to come out of the front and it smelled really bad.so does anyone have hypothesis or anything.if you had the same problems let me know i really would appreciate it..thanxx

Default chevrolet suburban 1992 headlight problems?

I would first replace the headlight switch. As they approach death, the lights will go on and off (they will turn off as the switch unit gets hot). As the switch cools, the lights will come back on. This could happen quickly, as in 20-40 second intervals. If the lights are flickering when you hit a bump, then you have a loose wire.As for the radio, who knows. It is a waste now, so you can just replace it with another factory unit, or aftermarket if you want to listen to some tunes.
