to give my title to the repair shop thas doing my car they installing new lock cylinder and key. And Would they have to order the part or will they have one on hand already I have the Vats anti-theft. I have a 1990 buick riviera

In your case they shouldn't need to see the title. It is mainly if you don't have the vehicle there with you.
